Working towards the Maison’s first launch
Caffè mocha at Coffee Up Geneva
My family think I’m low-key addicted to coffee.
Of which, I always deny 🤭
I’m always on the hunt for new coffee spots in town, and recently I tried out this space in Geneva called “Coffee Up”. A coffee shop for watch lovers. Ooouf! You can just imagine. My perfect haven.
First time having a Caffè mocha. I must admit. Scrumptious. (unsponsored plug)
As the French would say… oh la la !!!
Okay there’s something I wanna show you…
-18 carat rose gold case.
-Case hand-polished.
-Each hour marker on the dial individually set.
I can’t put this feeling into words. Finally seeing the real product come to life is insane.
We are cooking. Launching this baby in September 2025. This summer is going to be life-changing!
Sometimes, as an innovator, you get occasional thoughts in your head.
“What if no one buys it?”
“What happens if we don’t meet our deadline?”
“Is this all worth it?”
It’s not too often I get these ideas, but I do get them. You know, I realised something. Even if no one buys, it allows me to learn and try again. I used to be afraid of fumbling in public. But we have to put things into perspective. Not too long ago, my grandfathers would physically risk their lives just to put food on the table. Yes, this is hard, but it isn’t nearly as hard as it would have been a few decades ago.
2022: I had no idea how to build a watch. Let alone an idea on how a movement works.
2025: We are launching the world’s first Afro-Swiss luxury watch brand.
We are far from perfect. And that’s okay. This business has taught me to step out in audacious faith, be resourceful and not take things so seriously.
After all, we’re going to die.
This month, I turned 25.
a quarter of a century…
My friends have a hard time accepting that I’m an introvert.
On my birthday, I like to spend the first half of the day alone.
Praying, journaling, documenting and thinking about things I’d like to do for the next year.
Something amazing happened.
In this season of my life, things are unbalanced. The idea of a perfect work-life balance is an illusion. Lol.
And among all this, the Lord filled me with a great sense of gratitude.
Thankful for:
-God giving me purpose
-the loving friends and family I have
-great health
-the community of support I'm surrounded by
-the opportunity to live and enjoy life
-an endless sense of joy, peace and love
The list goes on and on. Having this attitude made all the difference for me.
As we start the 2nd half of the year. This one mantra I leave with you.
What makes time a rare luxury isn’t how much we have, but how deeply we love within it.
Until next time my friend,
Can’t trust a nude wrist.
